post Happy Birthday D&D

August 25th, 2004

Dungeons and Dragons recently celebrated its 30th birthday. As part of the world-wide celebration (come on, admit you had a slice of pizza and a soda to mark the occasion), GameSpy ran a series of very informative articles about the history of Dungeons and Dragons.

For instance, did you know that D&D started out as a system for resolving the combat of plastic miniatures? Or that the legendary creator, Gary Gygax was sued by TSR when he tried to introduce a competing product, Dangerous Journeys? Learn all this and more at GameSpy.

  1. Holy crap, Vin Diesel is a dork?!!? Cool. I’ll make sure Caitlin knows.

Great reads. Seriously. I never knew there was so much of a soap opera behind D&D.
