Star Wars: Empire at War — Currently Warring in My Computer Room
February 17th, 2006
GameSpot has a little news bit about how Star Wars: Empire at War has arrived at retail.
In addition, the launch is met with a 1.01 patch already too. I like when a company does that. Just ’cause its gold doesn’t make it perfect.
I have my copy. I am excited to get some time in this weekend, and hopefully I’ll get a review up for you all sometime next week.
The demo was fun, and i hear you can slow down the pace of combat, which was my only major complaint thus far, so things are looking up.
Now if you’ll excuse me, Its time to crush some rebel scum.

I fired it up last night. The game seems pretty difficult - and not in a good way. The land battles are a bit chaotic; it’s hard to move troops in position to react to paper/rock/scissor mismatches which are extremely unforgiving. Thankfully you can skip the land battles if you want.
And since I’m damn happy with the space battles, I’ll probably end-up doing that a lot.
