Yeah, so I just finished pumping up Trinity.. and they go and do this. Nice work gentlemen. I can say.. yes in fact the graphics are HAWT. And yes in fact, it WOULD screw yoru machine up if you got the premium patch within that timeframe.
(luckily I hadn’t rebooted before I fixed it)
But in order to spread the word:

ALERT: READ THIS IF YOU INSTALLED TRINITY BEFORE 4 A.M. GMT
If you have Windows AND upgraded EVE Online: Trinity Classic before 4 A.M. GMT to Premium using the content upgrade path then you MUST read this before doing anything else.
PLEASE DO NOT REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER
Check the root directory of your hard drive and see if you have a boot.ini file. Boot.ini file is normally hidden so you need to click Tools : Folder Options : View and select “Show hidden files and folders” and uncheck “Hide protected operating system files” to be able to see it. You can also check for the presence of this file by clicking Start : Control Panel : System : Advanced : Startup and Recovery : Settings (third button down). Windows will alert you if the boot.ini file is missing.
If boot.ini is still there then you are not affected and do not have to take any further steps.
If boot.ini is NOT there then please click here: FORUM LINK

Gaming Steve is fantastic. And he has a great podcast. But thats not what this post is about. This is the balls-out coolest extension of your MMO gaming experience I’ve see net. They basically make a very nicely detailed model of YOUR character in WoW. Frickin sweet.
Dave and I have been checking out EvE-Online now for a few weeks. The game is slow at first, glacially slow. And if action-y combat is your think, this game is not going to scratch that itch for some time. But if you like depth in game play, and truly user-driven political systems, then this game is unparalleled.
Today will mark the launch of the (free) expansion, Trinity to the game, and also debut a brand new graphics overhaul to the game, which was already sexy to look at. If you are feeling the boredom of WoW, and looking for a very different MMO to check out, you might want to give EvE a try.

Simply fantastic. I love it when one game pays homage to another. If you’ve never seen Line Rider, check it out. Then watch this movie to appreicate it fully.
This LineRider lever is a nigh-exact replica of the first level of Super Mario Brothers — looks like it would be a ton of fun. Someone needs to make a CounterStrike level based on this level.
So, it’s going to take as long to level between 60-70 in The Burning Crusade as it does from 1-60? Apparently that statement, being bandied about World of Warcraft forums and in-game chat was a little off the mark, as one server in Europe already has a level 70 character. A gnome mage by the name of Gawell of the Millenium guild on Europe’s Archimonde server hit level new level cap a mere 28 hours after the expansion launched. A Frenchman, the player and his guild planned out the leveling rush step by step, rotating party members in and out based on where and what they were fighting.
There’s an interview up with the player on the World of Raids forums, where he goes into a little detail regarding the planning behind the accomplishment. While at first I was ready to jump on the “he has no life” bandwagon, the more I think about it the more I admire the planning and dedication the 40 man guild put into the project. Michael Fahey
“As a Starcraft player I can tell you that I hope it wouldn’t go a decade - we launched Starcraft in ‘98 - I hope it wouldn’t go a decade before we stand here and celebrate the next Starcraft together,” Itzik Ben Bassat told crowds gathered at World of Warcraft expansion The Burning Crusade’s official launch event in London last night.”Don’t forget that we have two more franchises that we love - Diablo and Starcraft,” Bassat had declared.”We haven’t forgotten that we have these two franchises, and what I can tell you is that I look forward to stand here in a few years, or whenever it’s going to be, and celebrate with you the launch of the next Starcraft or the next Diablo.”According to our people on the ground, the Blizzard PRs “looked a bit uncomfortable” around this point. So that’s welcome to the Internet the hard way, really.Whether all that means Bassat knows something that we don’t though, or whether he’s just teasing or speculating, is impossible to say - but Blizzard is notoriously secret and perfectionist about its work, and it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to discover a sequel lurking in development somewhere.
